Bear Bryant

A legendary football coach that most people remember was Paul William "Bear" Bryant. Bear coached for 25 years in Alabama at the University of Alabama. During his career, Bear was able to obtain six national championships and 13 conference championships. Most people can remember Bear because he was always wearing his houndstooth hat. Bear's first coaching job was in Jackson, Tennessee at Union University, but this didn't last long. He was soon offered the coaching job at the University of Alabama under the very well known Frank Thomas. The University of Alabama had many victories with Bear Bryant being their coach.

Believe it or not, there is a website museum in honor of Bear Bryant. You can find this at BryantMuseum.ua.edu. However, there is an actual museum located off of Bryant Drive in Tuscaloosa, which is at the University of Alabama. Here you can look into the life of the great Bear Bryant. You can learn of his successful career at this museum. Here, you can also get to see an insight of his childhood and growing up.

Bear Bryant was known to be one of the greatest coaches that ever lived. Unfortunately, Bear Bryant passed away at the age of 69 in January of 1983. Bryant's final resting place is at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, Alabama. Bryant got to enjoy his final game in December of 1982 when his team won at the Liberty Bown in Memphis, Tennessee. Bear Bryant was a tremendous coach and will be missed by many, and remembered by many many more.
